The creation of photographs that grabs the viewer’s attention is a deliberate process and a combination of several factors. In this workshop we will explore personal expression and the development of the ability to creatively make images. Topics include composition, using color, creative camera techniques and developing the ability to “see” photographically.

The digital camera arguably is one of the most potent methods for personal expression invented by humanity.  This BOOT CAMP session is all about getting in touch with your creative side and connecting with that power.  The creative photographic process is the union of technical expertise and careful observation.  Bring your photography to the next level and to start achieving consistent and deliberate results with this workshop. 

We will examine several photographic traditions and approaches to subject matter.  In addition to practicing specific camera techniques we will review multiple images and analyze their qualities and flaws.  This workshop will hone you critical analysis skills and teach you how to employ creative control to create the images of your imagination.

Digital photography is the marriage of art and science, of technology and imagination, of the intellect and the eye.  Learn how to create images that grab the viewer’s attention and fulfill your need to express yourself creatively.

What you need for this workshop

Please bring your digital camera and owner’s manual to this session.  Make sure you have charged batteries and memory cards for the practice shooting exercises.  You will be using your camera during the session

 Make sure you have and notebook and pen – this day is full of information and you definitely will want to take notes
